Billing Fees
Water and Sewer Utility bills are mailed to our customers every three months, normally on the first business day of the month. The following table indicates the areas that are billed each month:

Paperless Billing
Paperless Billing is easy! Your bill will be delivered directly to your email on your billing day. No more lost cards in the mail! Call our office at (908) 852-3622 to sign up or send us a request at custserv@hmua.com.
How To Pay Your Bill
Pay Online
You can pay your bill online via e-check or credit/debit card. To pay online you will need your Account # and PIN # located on your bill. Once there, you can choose to register, make a one-time payment, and/or set up Autopay.
If you’re setting up Autopay, you must register as a new user and set up a user ID and Password. Please note that you must be signed up prior to your billing day. Autopay is typically deducted from your account the fourth Thursday of your billing month. There is no fee for autopay.
If you are making a one-time payment you are responsible to verify that the correct water and sewer account information is entered. Incorrect bank routing numbers, account numbers or credit card numbers will result in a reversal of payment and will be subject to interest and return fees. NO REFUNDS OF CONVENIENCE FEES WILL BE MADE.
One-time payments are subject to a convenience fee as follows:
- E-Check fee is a flat $1.95
- Credit/Debit card fees are 2.95%
Pay by Phone
You can call the Business Office (908) 852-3622 and pay with an e-check or credit/debit card. These payments are also subject to a convenience fee as outlined above.
Pay in Person
You can visit our Business Office located at 424 Hurley Drive, Hackettstown, NJ (directions) during regular business hours 8:00 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday and pay with cash, check or credit/debit card. (Fees apply to in person credit card payments.) An after-hours payment slot is available in the front door.
Mail Your Payment
If mailing your payment, please return the right side of the bill with a check or money order made payable to “HMUA”. Please write your account number on the check and mail it to:
