2021 Hydrant Flushing Schedule

Fire hydrant flushing graphicFlushing is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on the following evenings: May 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. Nightly flushing is normally completed by 6 a.m. the following morning. In addition, on May 13th and 14th there will be daytime flushing in the Independence and Mt. Olive high pressure areas.

When we are flushing in your area you may draw some rusty looking water for a short time. Just let it run for a while and it will clear up. Please check your water before washing clothes (especially white clothing). The best times to wash clothes during the flushing period is anytime on Saturday and Sunday before 10 p.m.
