Hydrant Flushing – What To Expect

During the next several weeks, we will be flushing our water mains and fire hydrants.  This “housecleaning” is necessary to insure that the water delivered to you is clear and sparkling and that fire hydrants operate properly in the event of a fire.

When we are flushing in your area you may draw some rusty looking water for a short time.  Just let it run for a while and it will clear up.  Please check your water before washing clothes (especially white clothing).  The best times to wash clothes during the flushing period is anytime on Saturday and Sunday before 10 p.m.
